Gustavo visits Galicia
Gustavo Dudamel will be in Galicia, Spain on July 5, 6 and 7 as special guest of the second edition of ‘Palabras para Galicia’, an initiative of the Spanish financial institution ABANCA. The event will close with a concert conducted by Maestro Dudamel in the Plaza del Obradoiro, heart of the beautiful city of Santiago de Compostela.
The second edition of 'Palabras para Galicia' is called 300 years in tune in commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the Etcheverria Bank, one of the most important banks in the history of Spain. This initiative seeks to foster entrepreneurship and contribute to the creation of opportunities for young people.
The artistic and musical director of the LA Phil and director of Venezuela's Simón Bolívar Orchestra will conduct Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in what will undoubtedly be one of the most important cultural events of the year. Maestro Dudamel will be accompanied on stage by the Symphony Orchestra of Galicia, the Orfeón Donostiarra, soprano Marta Matheu, mezzo-soprano Lydia Vinyes Curtis, tenor Marc Sala and baritone Joan Martín-Royo.
