Returning to Salzburger Festspiele, Gustavo leads Bolívars in West Side Story
Making their return to the Salzburger Festspiele, Music Director Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela offer six performances of West Side Story. They present Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's beloved musical drama on August 20, 21, 23, 25, 27 & 29, 2016.
The fully staged production, directed by Philip Wm McKinley with choreography by Liam Steel, puts Cecilia Bartoli in the spotlight as Maria. Joining Bartoli is Norman Reinhardt as Tony, Michelle Veintimilla as the young Maria, Karen Olivo as Anita, George Akram as Bernardo and Dan Burton as Riff.
