Gustavo Dudamel tours Europe with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks
This spring Gustavo Dudamel tours Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. The Venezuelan conductor leads the Bavarian orchestra in a program featuring two masterworks: Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony, “Pastoral,” and Stravinsky’s Le sacre du printemps. Opening April 6 in Lisbon, the April tour takes Gustavo and the ensemble to Oviedo (April 7), Zaragoza (April 8), Barcelona (April 9), before concluding in Lucerne (April 11).
Later this month, Gustavo joins the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra as its Honorary Conductor for performances at the orchestra’s home in Sweden and on tour in France, Switzerland, and Italy. Gustavo and the GSO present Strauss’s tone poem Till Eulenspiegel, Mozart’s Symphony No. 38 in D Major, “Prague,” and Sibelius’s Second Symphony for their April concerts together in Gothenburg (April 16 & 17), Udine (April 22), Lugano (April 23), Perugia (April 24), Brescia (April 25), and Bergamo (April 26).
