Walt Disney Concert Hall 2022-2023 Season

The LA Phil has announced the 2022-2023 Season of programming at Walt Disney Concert Hall, which launches in September 2022 with a Gala Concert celebrating the music of iconic composer John Williams. In October, Gustavo expands on the groundbreaking multi-year Pan-American Music Initiative, which celebrates the vast creativity of the region, with highlights including performances of works by José Antonio Abreu, violinist María Dueñas performing as soloist in Gabriela Ortiz’s Violin Concerto, and Arturo Márquez’s Fandango with violinist Anne Akiko Meyers.

Following December performances of Tchaikovsky’s timeless Nutcracker and Wagner’s towering operatic masterpiece Tristan und Isolde, in the New Year Gustavo and the LA Phil will be joined by pianist Yuja Wang for a two-week focus on the piano concertos of Rachmaninoff. In May, Gustavo and the LA Phil give two world premieres by composers Ellen Reid and Gabriella Smith, followed by performances of Mozart’s “Jupiter” Symphony, and the composer’s Piano Concerto No. 27, featuring peerless Mozart interpreter Mitsuko Uchida.
